Having attended school in Rye, (albeit on an ad hoc basis), Janet found it a bit difficult at first to enjoy the town. However those days are long gone! With three adult children, five grandchildren and a vast number of friends Janet is happily ensconced in Rye.
Complimentary healing is very high on her list of priorities and along with Reiki and Journey work she also does Card Readings. Her eldest son and daughter-in-law are also in the healing field, they have a Body Stress Release practice in Hailsham and Neil's Yard, London.
As a founder member of the Rye Harbour Artists Group Janet has, over the years, taken great interest in the art scene locally. With this in mind Janet opened a small shop to allow visitors and Rye dwellers alike to source local art and craft. Sadly through reasons beyond her control, this had to close just one year after opening. Still with all the hobbies and grandchildren there is no way Janet will ever be bored.
Work has encompassed many fields including ceramics, fur coats, child care and photography. Some have been successful and some haven’t, such is life! Joy Harland, the creator of the Rye Model was a great inspiration and as well as letting Janet help with the model, introduced her to creative ceramics and empowered Janet to work by herself.
Now living with well known artist Mike Stott Janet has plenty to do helping to organise the very successful art exhibitions by the Rye Harbour Artist Group. The Easter one in the community centre being high on the agenda at the moment.
Discovering in later life dietary problems Janet is delighted that she can still get very yummy food that she can eat in Fletchers. Thanks Lee!
Our pleasure Janet, always great to see you both in Fletchers & being my food tester back in my earlier days of learning the Gluten Free, cooking & baking.
